The artist Telmo Kouyate (Telmo) was born in Cote D Iviore (Ivory Coast) and became enamored of reggae music in 1999, inspired by such grat African muscians as; Alpha Blondy, Ismael Isaac and Hamed Faras.
Temo recorded is first demo at at Pyramid Studio in the year 2000, he then started out performing at various small venues around town. Telmo received positive reviews from the people who came out to watch him perform, it was at that point that he decided to record his first professional album.
The first album by Telmo was recorded at DMB Studio with Moses Doumbia son of the late great muscian Mamadou Doumbia (Rest his soul), The had the support and particapation of many great artists such as Fadal Dey, Jim Kamson, Benny Metho and Massa Falasha just to name a few.
This album has great music and also makes serious commentaries on the various ills of the country (Ivory Coast) and society in general. The album is dedicated Adja Sita Biabate (Telmo’s Mother). Stay tuned to Nile Valley Music to see more upcoming projects from this great African Reggae artist.
